Tonight I am sharing one of my favorite poems I’ve written thus far, Weeping Willow. The weeping willow happens to be my favorite tree it inspires a feeling of peace when I see one. It was a joy to write and I enjoy reading time after time. I hope you enjoy it as well.

Weeping Willow
By Deborah Elaine McLane

The weeping willow cries
cascading tears
Tears of joy and sorrow fall
down her branches
Branches bend with the
weight

Joy of children making hiding
places within
Sorrow when they grow and
move on
Yet the willow stays in the
same spot

Never yielding
Forever beautiful

The weeping willow stands
as we move
To new lives and loves and
sorrows
She watches over us during the
day and night

Standing firm in Mother Earth’s
loving soil
The willow stays as we live out
our lives
Passing on, yet new lives enter
hers

Her role is one of beauty and
poise
To see a willow is to see the
true beauty in life
Ever standing, everlasting
beauty

Stand back and truly look
for she shows
The beauty life offers us
all
